Our Merlot was harvested when the fruit reached optimum ripeness. It was then taken to the winery, fermented in open fermenters with the cap pumped over 3 times daily to add colour, texture and body. The wine was then transferred to fine grained French Heinrich Cote du Rhone Barriques for nine months maturation. Deep garnet with a youthful purple hue. The aromas are rich with dark berries including mulberry and plum, with tobacco leaf, leather, rhubarb, coffee and charry oak complexity. These aromas flow through to the rounded palate which has soft, integrated tannins and good length of flavour. CELLARING: Medium term cellaring to around 2015 will ensure further integration and development of lovely maturation flavours.
